A few years ago, a major international airline conducted a large customer satisfaction survey; before reading the next sentence, feel free to guess what came out of it as the number one priority. The answer: clean fold-down coffee tables. You may not have given that as your answer!
Assessing the invisibles in business premises
The rationale behind such a response was simple: we can’t assess whether your engines are clean and well-maintained, but if your coffee tables are dirty we might assume that’s how you operate across the board!
Having clean windows for your office, shop, restaurant, bar, or other commercial premises might not immediately gain a sale or a new customer. But their absence might well deter prospective customers from even making contact. As well as allowing people to see in, where this is appropriate, clean building windows help a positive ethos to shine out.
Impressing employees, customers and suppliers
While you want to present a positive working face to the outside world, isn’t it equally important to make the same level of commitment to those who are employed behind the windows? Looking out through grit, grime, bird droppings or other accumulated detritus, can lower the spirits of those within. It can even then affect how they represent that business when dealing with customers, suppliers, and the like.
Gaining the benefits for your company
As we mentioned in our recent post on the benefits of professional window cleaning services, regular cleaning also helps add to the longevity of your windows. And that’s a useful word to remember here too. Making a bad impression can linger – like dirt on a window – meaning negative thoughts can remain in the subconscious long after actually seeing the offending glass.
A window into your world
Poet Dejan Stojanovic might not have had purely business benefits in mind when he wrote that ‘A breeze, a forgotten summer, a smile, all can fit into a storefront window’. But he does capture the idea of how much can be seen just from looking through (or in this case just at) glass.
